Pre-Answer: Three Words “(5-letters) (6-letters) (4-letters)
Answer: “SCENE“ BETTER DAYS
(For a few minutes, yesterday, this had me stumped! I had no idea what they were getting at, and the quotation marks weren’t helping. Especially, with the great answer letter layout! I put it down, to do the Cryptoquote, and when I came back I was able to see it. Great clue words. We even had a new one, in “fennel”. Ralis95 will have to add that to his world famous clue word database. Surprisingly, all of the jumbles came up as new. Now that I’m seeing the bigger Jumble I can see how fun the cartoon really is. Nice job. I think this was one of my first record albums. I don’t think it was the original Broadway cast. I think it was the studio version. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
This was a challenging final answer for me as well. I finally hit on the homonym “seen” just before making the connection to “SCENE” and needed over six minutes to crunch this solution out. Neither BETTER or DAYS are obvious, but the answer fit the cartoon perfectly..Well done David and Jeff!
Once you figured out the homonym the phrase made perfect sense. Hair was a musical in 1968. Revivals haven’t fared so well, because it just doesn’t hold up too well. — YUR
I gave up on solution after 2 days! I usually never quit! Thanks, UR for the answer!
It certainly was no gimme, Lesley! — YUR
