Clue/Question: When the all-star pitcher was presented with a new contract, he – – –
Answer: BALKED
(I sure hope bases weren’t loaded! Great baseball pun. I’m not going to explain, it unless somebody asks for an explanation. All of today’s clue words are old favorites. Two of the jumbles appear to be new, with “dunro” and “curnbh” having been used before. The answer letter layout was as good as a six-letter one can be. If you’re not a baseball fan you may have struggled to get this. So nice having a full sized cartoon! The all-star is appropriately blasé, and the owner is an old-school, stereotypical, rich cowboy. Sorta like Gene Autry. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
Hi what happened to the Sunday jumble? Never got your email w answers!
Coming up, Liz! Yesterday was a travel day for me, and I thought that most would want the current one first! — YUR
You’re right, UR, doing that with bases loaded is embarrassing (for the pitcher). Fortunately, nothing in today’s Jumble that would make anybody BALK …
The pitcher rather reminded me of Catfish Hunter. Great puzzler. That guyz have been on top of it!!! LL
