“If you think it’s hard to meet new people, try picking up the wrong golf ball.” — Jack Lemmon
(Our first Jack Lemmon quote! Very funny actor. It’s hard to believe he’s been gone for over 16 years! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

GORRI = RIGOR, PRAGH = GRAPH, WUTOIT = OUTWIT, TAUDEP = UPDATE — Giving us: RORGHWITPDA
Clue/Question: The nursery that sold bamboo was experiencing: – – –
Answer: RAPID GROWTH
(Wow! It kinda looks like Gilligan is in charge! That is unusual. All the clue words are old favorites today. Two of the jumbles are new, but we’ve seen “wutoit” and “taudep” before. The answer letter layout was not bad. Some days you just see the answer, and today was one of those days. Same with the clue words. Fun cartoon. I always enjoy the Classic TV themed Jumble cartoons. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
Visual Description: Gotta get my mower fixed!
HURES = USHER, LEYID = YIELD, GUNLEP = PLUNGE, DSOETD = ODDEST — Giving us: USEYELPLNODS
Clue/Question: He dozed off listening to music on his headphones, and was able to – – –
Answer: SLEEP SOUNDLY
(So sorry for today’s delay, guys. Too many distractions, culminating in my son being rear-ended. Thankfully, he’s fine. And, there seems to be minimal damage to the old clunker! Hopefully, he does not wake up sore tomorrow morning. This was a fun Jumble. No new words, but three of the jumbles came up as new. The guys have used “leyid” before. The answer letter layout was beautiful. The cartoon’s dialog and the headphones were the biggest clues. I was actually at a Sears Parts Center today ordering a replacement piece to my mower’s – Craftsman 6.75HP walk behind – handle assembly. Busted it this weekend, after getting angry at some overgrown roots! They may have won this battle, but I’ll . . . Who am I kidding? The roots have already won, and I’ve just got to learn to live with it! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
“Metaphors have a way of holding the most truth in the least space.” — Orson Scott Card
(Our first quote from Mr. Card, since I’ve been posting these spoilers. And, apparently the name Orson does not exist in England, as WordPress keeps treating it as a misspelling! Strange. A lot of truth in this quote though. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
Visual Description: Not exactly Piccadilly.
BEATA = ABATE, LORTL = TROLL, PHSSLA = SPLASH, TETAST = ATTEST — Giving us: ATEOLLSPHTS
Clue/Question: When they built the new roundabout, they pulled out – – –
Answer: ALL THE STOPS
(When I saw the traffic circle and the clown, my fist thought went to circus, as in Piccadilly Circus. But, Piccadilly’s not really a traffic circle, it’s more of a pedestrian circle. I saw it once, about 100 years ago! Having the reduced sized Jumble again this week, it was a little tough to make out all the detail. But, with the help of the light-up magnifying glass, that Carol gave Mom, I was able to see all. It’s a great pun though. Traffic circles can be very intimidating, to me. As long as you know where you’re going, you’re okay. But, if you have any question as to where you’re supposed to go, they can be pretty harry. If you are behind me, you better be prepared for me to stop, even if they’re designed to prevent stopping. No new clue words, and only two of the jumbles came up as new today. We’ve seen both “beata” and “lortl” before. Very nice job on the answer letter layout. Charmingly cryptic! And, a loaded cartoon! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
“What marks the artist is his power to shape the material of pain we all have.” — Lionel Trilling
(Our very first Trilling quote, at least since I’ve been posting these spoilers! Ooh! He and his wife, Diana, were members of the New York Intellectuals! Where as your dear old uncle is a member of the New York Loudmouths. And, my dear wife, Carol, is a member of the New York Apologists! “Oh, don’t mind him. He’s just a little grumpy in the morning . . . and the afternoon . . . and the . . .” Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
“The idea of a library full of books, the books full of knowledge, fills me with fear and love and courage and endless wonder.” — Elizabeth McCracken
(This appears to be our first quote from the author, Ms. McCracken. At least since I’ve been posting these spoilers. Nice quote. We give it a thumbs up! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
Visual Description: Satellite locksmith.
DOFOL = FLOOD, CULYK = LUCKY, WYOLSL = SLOWLY, TNIKET = KITTEN — Giving us: OKYSKE
Clue/Question: To get more customers, the locksmith set up a – – –
Answer: “KEY–OSK“
(A wonderfully stinky pun! And, it even has an air of originality! None of the clue words are new, however three of the jumbles appear to be new. We have definitely seen “culyk” before. Nice answer letter layout. Fun cartoon, with a cute pun of its own. “Sure Lock Homes”. And, we get another Jeff character! It’s about time we see David L. Hoyt though. Right? Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
“There ain’t no good guys. There ain’t no bad guys. There’s only you and me, and we just disagree.”
HUMAN NATURE…..
We are both light and darkness. We will always have both these elements in us—- we can never have only one of the elements. And it is precisely this co-existence of polarly contradictory elements that makes us HUMAN… neither god nor devil…. neither angel nor beast….
“A hero is no braver than an ordinary man, but he is brave minutes longer.” — Ralph Waldo Emerson
