Answer:  PROFISHIENT

(Izaak Walton would love this one!  Let’s add this Jumble to “The Compleat Angler”!  I used to fish as a boy.  It was great fun.  Caught mostly creek chub, rock bass, sunfish, the occasional carp and bullheads.  I’ve even caught a couple of smallmouth bass, and one trout.  Always catch and release.  As an adult, I tried to take one of my step-sons fishing once.  Zilch.  Nada.  Ungatz!  I think I lost my touch.  Maybe, I’ll try again someday.

No new clue words today, but all of the jumbles came up as new.  I thought “zoicre” was a great jumble.  The answer letter layout was nifty too.  The avoidance of the word FISH set the hook, for me.  I’m guessing Jeff knows the “skilled angler”.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

I never have any problem getting enthusiastic with a good song and a good band.”   —   Waylon Jennings

(Our first Waylon Jennings quote!  He was a bad-ass of Country music, and he died way too young.  I guess the 6 packs of cigarettes, and the amphetamines, and cocaine, etc. etc. took their toll on his body.  Live fully, folks.  Just not foolishly.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Answer:  DUCTS IN A ROW

(Beautiful, stinky pun!  Ya gotta love it!  We even have a new clue word today in “colony”.  That kind of surprised me, but hey!  What are you gonna do?  My job is to alert our good friend, ralis95, to add this word to his world famous clue word database!  Besides the rare new clue word, all of the jumbles are coming up as new today too.  It took a couple of looks to come up with “unify”.  You know, starting with a vowel, and ending with a sometimes one.  The answer letter layout was a masterful jumble.  It gave nothing away.  It was the combination of the leading nature of the clue/question, the great cartoon, and the quotation marks, that made the answer pretty evident.  Great job, men!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Find something you really care about and mix that with something you love doing.”   —   Kathleen Hanna

(Add another character to the list!  Maybe, I should know her . . . but I don’t.  Seems like a cool kitty, chill chick, who would probably object to these tags.  Well, not if she has a sense of humor!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

I write my own quotes.  Except this one.  I obviously stole this from somebody really clever.”   —   Brian Celio

(I like this guy!  I’ve never heard of him before, but he seems pretty chill.  For whatever reason, it took me a while getting this one started.  The coded THIS and what would become STOLE are what finally got me going.  Anybody else struggle with this some?  Be chill and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Clue/Question:  The fish that started their own rock band were – – –

Answer:  GROUPERS

(And, some of their followers were groupies!  Groupers are generally large, unattractive fish.  Good eating though, I guess.  Rock bass are cuter.  And, they put up a surprisingly good fight, for their size.

All old favorite clue words today.  Three of the jumbles came up as new, with “perig” having been used before.  The answer letter layout was nicely cryptic.  Great cartoon.  I like the scallop shell cymbals and the tuna can snare drums.  Lots of fun.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Answer:  FLEW OFF THE HANDLE

(I like when Jeff takes us back to an earlier era!  It’s been quite a while since tennis has seen a bad boy like this.  Our friend, Wes, must be very happy that Roger Federer – the opposite of a bad boy – won Wimbledon . . . again!  He turns 36 in a couple of weeks, so you have to wonder how much longer he’s going to want to play.  With two young sets of twins, he might want to cash in, and devote the bulk of his time being a dad.  But, who knows?

No new clue words today, but five new jumbles!  Hoyt has definitely used “luwant” before.  The answer letter layout was cryptic 16-letter jumble.  It took me a couple of looks to come up with the answer.  I was thinking it might be LOST something, but there was no S.  I think the cartoon, showing the stages of the racket, and the motion swoosh, is what brought me to FLEW.  And the rest just fell into place.  I recognize the sore loser, but I can only guess that the winner might be André Agassi . . . back when he had hair, of course!  Probably Boris Becker though.  Great Sunday Jumble.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Answer:  CUSHY JOB

(Cushion kinda gave away the answer, for me.  Although, I’m sure there are some out there who might not be familiar with the phrase.  All of today’s clue words are old favorites.  Yet, all of their jumbles came up as new.  The answer letter layout was a nifty jumble as well.  Nice warehouse/factory setup.  I liked the little vending machine in the break room.  And, the guy testing the couch cushions has an even better job than the lady!  Fun little pun.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Being misunderstood by people whose opinions you value is absolutely the most painful.”   —   Gloria Steinem

(I think we’ve all been there.  Especially, when it comes to the written word.  But, even the spoken word, in face to face contexts yet, can be misconstrued at times.  I think a lot of it has to do with overcoming preconceived notions/beliefs.  We all need be prepared to think outside of ourselves sometimes.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
