Answer:  STAY THE COURSE

(“Not gunna do it.”  “Read my lips.  No new taxes!”  Ah, yes.  The good old days, when an Ex-CIA Director ran the country.  And, no one had an inkling that – eight years after him – we’d have eight years of . . . his Secretary of Defense running the country!  Oh, c’mon now.  You don’t really think the guy choking on the pretzels was in charge.  Do you?  LOL!  Oh, well.  Water under the bridge.

It’s looking like “kissed” is a new clue word.  Hmm.  Again, this sounds to me like a word we may have had in the last few months.  But, only the big man knows for sure.  ralis95 will search his master file, and, if need be, will enter “kissed” into the vaunted, world famous, clue word database!  It’s looking like we have seen the jumble “ructo” before, though the other three came up as new.  THE answer letter layout was alright, I guess.  Fine golf cartoon.  I wonder if Jeff had to fight the urge to draw either Chevy Chase, or Bill Murray?  Old Carl might not inspire a whole lot of confidence, but old Ty was pretty low key.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Being an MP is the sort of job all working-class parents want for their children  –  clean, indoors and no heavy lifting.”   —   Diane Abbott

(Goddamn Limeys!  LOL!  My heritage is about half English, so – I claim that – I can speak this way!  And, If I can’t?  Too friggin’ bad.  This is the first Diane Abbott quote, since I’ve been posting the spoilers.  She’s not Theresa May, or Maggie Thatcher, or Q.E.II, so what would I know of this woman?  Rebecca Kornbluh isn’t British, is she???  I’m sure most of you know why I’m griping.  The third “word” in the quote *could* have been:  MP, QP, UP, XP or ZP.  Seeing as it followed the word “an”, English language “logic” would dictate that it would either be MP, UP – as in the word “up” – or XP.  You can safely rule out QP and ZP.  In “Murica” MP stands for Military Police, which is definitely not a clean, indoor kind of job.  We don’t say MC for Member of Congress, or MS for Member of the Senate, so MP, other than military police, means pretty much nothing to us Yanks!  I think Rebecca is dragging up quotes that throw conventional English language logic out on its ear!  Just to make them more challenging.  Just like that dopey Jewish Proverb from a couple of days ago, where the first and third sentences were needlessly in the form of a question, despite the fact that they both start with “THE”.  The quote stands on its own, even without the questioning inflection, so what’s the point?  LOL!  Maybe, in some ways, we threw down the challenge gauntlet.  And, she’s picked it up, and is running with it.  She’s giving us quotes that play fast and loose with conventional wisdom.  Let’s just live and learn.  These challenges are good for our brain synapses!  LOL.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
