(Cute. No new clue words, and three new jumbles. We’ve seen “gilco”. Nice answer letter layout. Homey cartoon. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
Hope all is well Unc. Got concerned that u were so late. But always good to hear from u. Take care.
I didn’t recognize CONGA, but it was easy enough to dance around …
Every other Monday is my “travel day”, Barb. My sister and I alternate each week driving to Mom’s to spend 5 – 6 days with her. My Sis’ commute is about 3h 40min. Mine is 4h 40min. When I arrived, I checked the site, but saw no interest, so I blew it off to take care of dirty dishes and such. Finally, around midnight, I decided it was worth the half-hearted effort.
Thanks for the concern.

THAT was the word that threw me too, hal! I had to back into it. It’s funny, because two days before I was looking at an older post, or maybe it was something on my stats page, at the clue word “bongo”. I looked at it like it was a word from another planet! It did NOT register an iota, in my pea brain! I said: I know what “bingo” is, but what the heck is “bongo”? I even asked my wife what it was! When she told me, I was able to re-establish the connection, but I felt like such a dope. Maybe, I have early onset (as if 60 is early anything) Alzheimer’s, or something. I’ve been having trouble finding the right word in conversations lately. And, that’s not like me. “Conga” was not quite as alien to me, but I thought maybe I have some weird, subliminal bias against non-English words that are now part of the English language. That’s it. I’m a racist, folks. Everybody flee this despicable blog, before I start a race war!

UR, I had a horrible time with conga…my brain kept insisting on ‘congac’! I’ve looked at words before and wonder What The Fricassee is that word- saw a dr’s comment on that sort of thing- he said that our brains are so packed with info and life experiences, etc., that it sometimes takes it a bit to dig up, process and green-light some words/names, etc…so don’t feel like you’re losing your marbles! Your mom is blessed to have you and your sister. PS, hal..funny! Have a sunny day, all!
Me too, jenn! Maybe, someday we can all meet over a cognac! That would be nice. I rarely drink the stuff, but I do enjoy a good brandy on rare occasions. — YUR
It would indeed! Maybe when the word list hits 4000, that would be the time for all UR’s Jumble posse to get together and celebrate! I personally prefer hot tea, but for that, I would happily sample anything and everything put in front of me! =D
I want to go, I want to go! That’s a grand idea Jenn. I’ll join you in drinking tea … too many years clean!
Could be Unc that you’ve had a lot going on and not much about memory problems?? Caretaking, though rewarding, is very wearying. Prayers for your family and your mom. It is so wonderful that y’all can help her!!. You will never regret it! LL
You’re probably right, LL. — YUR
