Visual Description: Sydney’s high school graduation!
ANGIT = GIANT, DUSKO = KUDOS, ANHECC = CHANCE, LOVETR = REVOLT — Giving us: GIANUDOSCANROLT
Clue/Question: When they finished high school, he complimented them all by saying – – –
Answer: “CONGRADULATIONS“
(CongraTs to Sydney – and her very proud parents, Jeff and Kathy Knurek – on graDuating from high school! It’s the first legitimate milestone of her very young life. All the kindergarten and middle school, etc. “graduations” were just rehearsals for this one. The real deal! Now, she’ll be moving on to a more independent phase of her life, where she will be cultivating her future. We wish her all the best, in all that she does.
All old favorite clue words today, and even three of the jumbles have been used before. Only “anhecc” appears to be new. The fifteen letter answer letter layout might be a record for a non-Sunday Jumble! On its own, without the context of the cartoon and the clue/question, I’d say it’s a very good jumble. But, with those things, and the quotation marks, it made solving this pretty much a breeze. Be well and do good, friends. Enjoy the Summer, Sydney!) — YUR
I immediately started writing in CONGRADUATIONS, but was one letter short! I love the scrambling of DUSKO. Wishing the best to Sydney and all new graduates.
I thought the answer involved GRADUATES in some manner, but kept coming up short a letter. But I finally got it. Though now that I’m looking at the answer here on the Blog, I noticed ADULATION as part of the answer. Clever!
I do not doubt that ADULATION was part of the mindset, Damid. I only saw the hybrid of CONGRATULATIONS and GRADUATION. Nice catch, my friend! — YUR
