Visual Description: Comics nerd heaven!
BLACE = CABLE, RAWEY = WEARY, GREDDE = DREDGE, PLAWOL = WALLOP — Giving us: CAEWRDRDWO
Clue/Question: When the cartoonists sketched people in the comic shop, they – – –
Answer: DREW A CROWD
(Not for nothin’ – as we like to say in Brooklyn – but this seems like either a rerun, or a variation of a rerun. The answer, that is, at least. There were no new clue words today, but three of the jumbles appear to be new. We have definitely seen “rawey” before. The answer letter layout was a decent jumble. It’s hard to hide the answer with those Ws and Ds. Very cool cartoon. I’m sure Jeff can supply us with the names of all the characters. No doubt either some of Jeff’s pals and/or favorites. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
Worked through the jumbles on this one in semi-quickly. Did ponder on the answer for a bit. I think I see Phil Dunphy (Ty Burrell) from Modern Family??
Ewwww, a necked Hagar and Olive Oil!!!??????? 🙂 LL
Today went fast for me. Got each one right away as well as the answer. A lot quicker than the past couple of days.
I miss Vnat; I’m sure he’d blast right through this one as well. 🙂
Me too Damid. I guess he’s traveling a bunch??
Great holiday weekend to all!! LL
Just flew back from Portland, Oregon, and boy are my arms tired. Every year I have the honor of getting together with some of the world’s most talented individuals at The National Cartoonists Society’s Reuben Awards. This year’s Rueben Jumble has four of the most amazing caricature artists starring in it. Angie Jordan (she creates caricatures digitally), Ed Steckley (amazing NYC illustrating talent. He created all the packaging for the new Rube Goldberg toys), Tom Richmond (Mad magazine parody expert and the most talented caricature artist in the world) and Jason Chatfield (Artist for Australia’s Ginger Meggs. Comedian, caricature artist, and future guest Jumbler!) There you go.
And, there you have it, folks! Uncle Jeff explains it all. Sounds like quite a diverse bunch of cartoonist characters! Sounds like an enjoyable trip.
