Visual Description: Indiana wants me. (Jeff’s feeling nostalgic.)
SUFFS = FUSSY, EYEND = NEEDY, DIRZWA = WIZARD, EBELET = BEETLE — Giving us: SSYNEARDBTE
Clue/Question: The people on the platform waving to the departing train were – – –
Answer: “BYE–STANDERS“
(Maybe, a little before Jeff’s time? A very nice period pun. No new clue words, but three of the jumbles appear to be new. They’ve used “suyfs” before. The answer letter layout was a spectacular jumble. It gave nothing away. The cartoon is great early 20th Century rail history. Jeff’s hometown? Kathy’s hometown? Maybe Jeff will tell. Yesterday’s Jumble drew a lot of attention. I also pulled in 5 or 6 new followers, so maybe they viewed a lot of the older spoilers. That happens sometimes. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
That would be Fishers, Indiana, where my family and I currently live. The Nickel Plate ran through here back in the day.
I always think of you as an Illinoisan, because of Tribune. And, you’re a Cubs fan. — YUR
Nope! I’m NOT a Cubs fan. That’s David. I’m from Detroit. I lived next to Wrigley Field for years and went to a ton of both Cub and Sox games in my 17 years in Chicago, but never a Cubs fan. We moved to Indiana when it was time for my, graduating daughter, was heading into kindergarten and we didn’t want to mess with Chicago schools. Fishers has great schools and has been a great place to raise a family. But I do miss Chicago! Yes, our fearless leaders and owners are still in the Trib tower so I get back often to see them and David. Anyway…Go Tigers!
That’s right. It’s hard to keep some of your stuff straight sometimes. I know you’re a big Michigan fan, and I *did* know about you being a Tigers fan. But, the Tigers are AL, so you could also be a Cubs fan (NL), because there would be no conflict. I’m a lifelong Pirates’ fan AND an Orioles’ fan. Growing up, the Mets were more of a novelty team for me. I didn’t become a diehard Mets fan until I moved to NYC. Now, the Pirates are more my *nostalgic* team. I think last season’s Kris Bryant jersey, in one of your cartoons, threw me a bit. But now, I’m guessing you did that more for Hoyt’s benefit.

Hi Jeff and UR! Fishers is a beautiful, vibrant town…and probably most importantly, my husband always gets his ‘Taylor’s Bakery’ fix there! =) He’s a big rail fan, so he thought the Nickel Plate drawing was an especially good Jumble picture! Well -done- as- usual shout-out to Jeff, David, and UR!
