Jumble Spoiler – 03/27/17

Image result for opening act

Visual Description:  Pre-illusionist curtain raisers.

Clue/Question:  Mimes don’t speak during a performance . . . Of course that goes – – –

Image result for penn & teller

(Little Teller always plays a kind of a mute character.  Penn Jillette gets to do all the talking in their routine.  These guys do a great job of keeping their act fresh, and highly entertaining.  It kind of seems like they’ve always been around, but It looks like they got their start in the late 70s.  Which now is a pretty long time ago!  I think their big steady gig is somewhere in Vegas these days.  How about Jimi Hendrix opening up for The Monkees???  Pretty ironic, don’t ya think?!

No new clue words today, but all of the jumbles came up as new.  They pretty much all jumped off the page for me.  The answer letter layout is a nice long 13 letter jumble, that might have stumped some of you, but I don’t think too many of you.  The cartoon is a nice likeness of the Penn & Teller.  I’m betting that both David and Jeff are big fans, as am I.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

PS.  Happy 30th Birthday to my bouncing baby boy, Derek!  It seems like only yesterday that I was holding this 9 pound 1 ounce little butterball in my hands.  The cutest and funniest kid I’ve ever known, and now he is a thoroughly handsome man.  Love that kid!      YUR

PAYHP RIBDAHYT, REEDK! We are fans of P&T! I just received a nice note from Teller about today’s Jumble. As you know, David and I love our magicians.

What a nice Dad to make such a loving and totally cool comment. With that kind of love he has likely become a wonderful & loving person. Nice work Unc. You’ve done good work, hope you are well.

Thanks, Barb & Jeff! He’s kind of a chip off the old block. He’s a little more emotional than me though. (Gets that from his Mom.) Sometimes I think he cares too much, and he puts himself too far out there. Everyone who I meet that’s worked with him, or for him, says how helpful he is. Really good kid. — YUR

Aaaahhhhh Unc, what a good daddy to say such kind things about your son, and not be afraid to do so!!! I know y’all had a grand celebration!

That poster. Something about the Jimi Hendrix Experience being special guests of the Monkee’s kinda makes my head spin. Or am I seeing it backward??? Love me some Hendrix!

    And the Jumbler!!! Grand! LL

Yeah. The Monkees were mainstream Pop/Rock at the time, and Hendrix was a little known Rock/Guitar player! It took a couple of years before he got his due, and now he’s regarded as a god!
