Answer:  BIT BY BIT

(The trick is having the proper bit for the job.  Don’t ask me which bit you should use to drill through tile.  But, I do know you can’t always get by with the basic bit.  No new clue words today.  At least they all look like old favorites.  However, all of the jumbles came up as new.  The answer letter layout was nifty, but it couldn’t hide a fairly obvious answer.  Fun cartoon of a Mr. DIY.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Hi! In todays jumble, isnt the last word “tiptoe” instead of poetic? (2-21-2017) Thanks!

    POETIC?? there is no C; 2 T’s – is there a typo?

I found the answer easy, but had to back into the fourth word.Actually, it couldn’t be POETIC as there was no C in the clue word PITETO. The actual word is TIPTOE. P.S. I follow the Jumble religiously and enjoy your comments on the solutions.

Well everybody beat me to it, cannot be poetic and I solved it with tiptoe as well. Still lovin’ the jumble!

Ah, yes. But, dear grasshoppers, only the purist of Jumble (idiot) savants can solve a Jumble with an erroneous clue word and incorrect letters! Namaste!

Drill bits for ceramic tile are very expensive and don’t seem to last. This was drawn from experience. Bit by bit and a few trips to the hardware store later, I was able to hang the new shower door.

UR, ‘dear grasshoppers’…love the retro phrase…! This brought a smile to my face today. Well, done, Grasshopper. =) Had wondered if you considered ‘tiptoe’ a compound word or not? My brain also went straight to ‘poetic’, even w/o the c! It’s nice to read others’ comments on the puzzles/UR’s thoughts of the day.

Good one Unc!! You’ve taken a page out of my playbook. And it all worked out in the end!

Fun puzzler!!! I remember beginning projects and spending more time in my car going back to the hardware store/craft shop!

    Take care all! LL

The jumbles for POETIC always have a way of throwing me, and – I thought – I was so proud of myself for seeing it so quickly! LOL! But, yeah. I DO also have slight issue with those compound words, like TIPTOE. It cracks me up that I didn’t catch it from the answer letter layout that I first came up with. That SHOULD have *tip-toed* me off to my mistake!

I also typed in POETIC first before realizing (thanks to the web version) that there was no C. I then immediately got TIPTOE. This error cost me a sub-10 second solution!
