Image result for not-too-distant

When our spelling is perfect, it’s invisible.  But when it’s flawed, it prompts strong negative associations.”   —   Marilyn Vos Savant

(Even the so-called pros fall prey to spelling errors.  In today’s USA Today there’s a story by Oren Dorell, on Trump’s attempt at repairing hurt feelings with China.  In it he wrote “. . . the U.S. will face the prospect of real disaster in the not-to-distant future.”  #1.  I don’t think the hyphens were necessary.  #2.  It’s the wrong spelling of “too”!  I’m far from being perfect, but it would be nice if newspapers still had proof readers.  Spell-check just doesn’t catch this kind of stuff.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
