Visual Description: Can’t wait to give thanks!
BBRUL = BLURB, GOFYG = FOGGY, EBELEF = FEEBLE, SOBBAR = ABSORB — Giving us: BLBOGGEELBOB
Clue/Question: When the delectable turkey was put on the table, everyone was anxious to – – –
Answer: GOBBLE GOBBLE
(Nice, holiday appropriate pun! I didn’t need a pen to do this one. All of the clue words are old favorites, and one of the jumbles, “sobbar”, has been used before. The answer letter layout was swell, but with four repeating letters, it really didn’t present much of a challenge. But, today isn’t about mental challenges. It’s about giving thanks. Hopefully, you all – like me – can find many things to be thankful for. Life is good. Happy Thanksgiving, folks! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
I noticed that the Lions were on the TV in the background. With a football going through the goalposts. Which the Lions won on a field goal as time expired! Jeff must be psychic! 😀
I guess you must have the full-sized Jumble, Damid. I was not able to make all that out. Detroit has won a bunch of their games by 7 points or less this year.
When I was a kid, trying to come up with my sports “identity” I was a big fan of both the Lions and the Redskins, and also the 49’s. Back then they all would almost always take/have a lead in the games against the hated Cowboys, only to lose in the last minute, to the heroics of Roger Staubach. How I hated him back then!
Hindsight has shown me that he is probably the greatest guy to ever man the quarterback position. You can have your Tom Brady – another guy I can’t stand – your Joe Montana, and any other winning QB you can think of, but to me none of them can match the skill and grit of Roger “The Dodger” Staubach.
And, because of his service in the Navy (4 or 5 years, including a tour in Nam!), he did it all at an older age than most professional athletes (27 years old when he started). Couldn’t stand him as a kid, but couldn’t respect him more as a man.
Anyway, I’m glad to see Detroit on track to make the playoffs. It’s been a long time for them.

YUR, it’s a printout of the jumble from the online edition of a newspaper. You can pull out a PDF version of whatever is in the paper, and it prints full page.
We’re pretty excited about the Lions this year; usually we aren’t in first place this late in the season. 🙂
I’m from the south side of Detroit, so there’s nothing more symbolic of Thanksgiving than the Lions on television. Even in their worst seasons, you’d hope they’d win on Thanksgiving. My family used to go to Tiger Stadium for the games and when my grandmother heard on the radio that the game was over, she’d know her timing on getting the meal on the table. Of course everybody came back pretty “happy” already. It made for some fun stories. The family in the cartoon is, Mac King’s. He’s David’s and my business partner and friend. He throws a massive Thanksgiving Day party every year for his fellow Las Vegas entertainers. David was there this year. We sadly are home bound because of high school swimming season. I hope everyone had a great one!
