Visual Description: The specter of Trump?
CNIPH = PINCH, SMAHE = SHAME, VIEIDD = DIVIDE, MARUAT = TRAUMA — Giving us: PINSAEIDETRM
Clue/Question: The ghost didn’t have many friends because he was so – – –
Answer: MEAN–SPIRITED
(Wow! And, on the eve of the Presidential election, no less. Don’t tell me I’m the only one getting this vibe, folks. LOL! Not that it bothers me, in the least. I think it’s funny as heck. I’ve long thought that “the fix” was in, and HRC was a stone cold, lock, guarantee for POTUS. But, who really knows!? No new clue words today, but three of the jumbles came up as new. The guys have used “cniph” in the past. I really liked the answer letter layout. It took me a few looks before I saw the pun. I think the cartoon is a hoot. Be well, do good, and get out the vote. Some states have early voting, or absentee ballots – which is essentially the same thing, just handled a little differently – so vote today if you can, and avoid the rush!) — YUR
Well I got the words right away, but had to go away for a while and then it was easy to solve. Good one today but easy even for me. 👌
Not sure where you stand, but please leave politics to the pols. Enjoy the puzzles and really prefer not to think politics when working the brain.
Please don’t tell me you’re an “election-rigged-believer,” too!!!! Thought you were smarter than that.
Um . . . so, you’re saying you didn’t pick up on the Trump vibe, Jackie??? I thought it was a completely valid observation. I’m not sure if I’m right, or not, but the bigger point is that I can make any observation I choose on this blog. You don’t have to like it. I haven’t seen you “Like” or comment here before, so I’ll excuse your objection. But, you should probably check out my “What it is” page to get an idea of where I stand. — YUR
Not because I’m a Trump supporter, Richard! But, like with Jackie, I don’t remember any of your “Like”s, or comments, before today, so I’ll try to reserve judgement on your intelligence. — YUR
Is it a coincidence that the word ‘president’ appears within the 12 jumble letters? Hmmmm.
The word ‘president’ appears within the 12 jumble letters. Coincidence? I think not!
Mean spirited = I am president 😎
Gosh Unc, I didn’t get that vibe at all!! I avoided the rush, in a sense. I voted on Tuesday. It was a beautiful day and only had to wait a little over an hour in line. Was relieved not to be in the mess of people at the assisted living place where my poll is located.
Grand puzzler!!
I’ll have to check that out! Thanks, Muffin Top! — YUR
Note to self: Think of “spirit” when the word “ghost” is in the clue/question. I knew the second part of the word was likely ending in “ED”, but that was as far as I got – for a LONG while. I tried several things for the first part: DEAD (not possible because there was only one D), PAIN, … I also thought the second part was something along the lines of MINDED, but couldn’t make any headway. Finally, after more than five minutes of thought, and on the verge of giving up, I saw the first part: MEAN. That led me to the answer. Very, very nice! SHAME took me several seconds to figure out. In fact, I had to solve the other words and get back to it.
Brilliant, Bob Seng!

At least SOMEBODY saw “The Donald” in that ghost cartoon! Thank you, “Anonymous”. — YUR
And an anagram for this solution is “I’m a President.” Brilliant!
Brilliant indeed, Ed! Great catch! — YUR
