Clue/Question: She wanted to drop Science, but her parents advised her to – – –

Answer: STAY THE COURSE
(A very popular phrase, especially with Republican Presidents, starting with Reagan. George H. W. Bush picked up the phrase and kind of ran it into the ground, as it was a large part of Dana Carvey’s parody of him on Saturday Night Live. Dubya used it for a while when describing his Iraq “strategy”, but they dropped it in 2006 when most of the country just wanted our butts out of there.
None of the clue words were new, but all of the jumbles were. Both “usdok” and “cenths” were fairly challenging to me. The answer letter layout was a real nifty jumble. I didn’t think that it gave anything away. Lots of good verbal clues in the cartoon, that was also a nice family scene! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
