Well, leave it up to Mick to letting himself go. He just applied to a role shared by billions of fathers around the world: the absent one, the one who can’t play ball with his new kid, or even be there through adulthood. A very popular role, indeed, perhaps because one can apply to it from different perspectives, not all of them under one’s control. As a world celebrity, Mick does have many things going on for him – besides the accolades his ‘proof of virility’ is already gathering from silly males all over the world, and, likely, himself -, which would be a big plus in most cases, not the least of them the fact that he, unlike the majority of those billions, can afford the care and upbringing of the new kid. Good for him. From the point of view of the one on his or her way, however, the deal may not sound so rosy. By the time, say, adolescence, and its transcendental complexity and importance for a fulfilling future, hits, one of the parents will very likely be so far removed from that age that it’s doubtful his presence will provide much guidance. Or vigor. Or relevance. In other words, in life, regardless of whom you are, just because you can, that hardly means that you should. Cheers.
8th child with a 5th woman . . . at age 72?!?! I’m sure the rooster in Mick is doing a little crowing! The fact that he’s shooting viable swimmers at this age IS pretty impressive, Wes. The kid might not see Dad at graduation (The REAL one. Not kindergarten, 5th grade, or middle school. Don’t get me started on THAT BS!) but he/she will be well taken care of, and will have great bragging rights. When you’re as famous and wealthy as Mick . . . CAN almost always supersedes SHOULD. Melanie should be a fairly normal Mom. And, one steady parent is usually sufficient.

True. Melanie and the kid will be just fine, I know. It’s all good. I, on the other hand, not so much lol
Most of us have envied Rock stars at some point in our lives. To think that he’s still going strong at 72, and “dating” 29 year old dancers kind of boggles the mind. I threw my back out last week, and that kind of pain brings mortality into a keen focus. It’s back “in”, but still a little sore. You and I aren’t Rock stars, Wes.

Sadly… Feel better. A better man, no doubt; even in pain, you manage to be gracious. Let me know later your brand of Advil. Cheers
Equate! (I’m one of those Wal-Mart people you see in those e-mails.)
