Visual Description:  Generational meteorological differences.

HOYTER  =  THEORY,  NZEEES  =  SNEEZE,  THOSEO  =  SOOTHE,  DEMPIE  =  IMPEDE,  AGETOE  =  GOATEE,  LUDFON  =  UNFOLD   —   Giving us:  HRSNSTHIEDATEUL

Clue/Question:  The evening weatherman was worried that the new meteorologist would – – –

Pre-Answer:  Three Words  (5-letters)  (3-letters)  (7-letters)

Answer:  STEAL HIS THUNDER

(Another terrific pun!  For a second or two I thought this was going to be a tough solve.  But, the answer hit me like a bolt of lightning!  There were no new clue words today, but five of the six jumbles came up as new.  Hoytie has used “hoyter” before!  Only “agetoe” and “ludfon” gave me a slight pause.  The others were instant for me.  The answer letter layout was a brilliant jumble.  It definitely didn’t give anything away.  I think it was the combination of the clue/question, the great cartoon, and its dialog that made the answer fairly obvious to me.  The new guy is very dapper, in his carefully coiffed do and beard, and his expensive sharp suit.  While the veteran dons the classic loud plaid sports coat, and a not so convincing toupee.  Lots of fun!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Science has not yet found a cure for the pun.”   —   Robert Byrne

(It’s a good thing I took the time to look this one up.  When I was solving this, my first thoughts on the last word were either FUN or SUN.  But, both the F and the S were already in use.  So, with my fairly linear mode of thinking I went to GUN.  I thought it was some kind of political statement.  As I was reading all the clever Robert Byrne quotes, I was thinking why was this one so devoid of humor!  So, I typed in the entire “quote” into Google . . . and nothing came up.  Then it hit me!  I keep forgetting that so many people – erroneously – believe that puns are the lowest form of wit.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
