(Another great one! I was slightly surprised to find that “garage” is a new clue word. Yet another word for ralis95 to add to his world famous clue word database! Also, all of today’s jumbles have come up as new. Nice letter groupings in the clue words, too. Makes it easier for me when I do these spoilers. The answer letter layout was a super jumble. Very nicely cryptic, again. The cartoon does a good job of showing some blasé couch potatoes. I shouldn’t talk though. I watch way too much TV myself. I can’t miss Jeopardy! Wow, they keep coming up with new words … and, as I love to note, MODEM is a word that Henri Arnold & Bob Lee couldn’t have used 30+ years ago! The long secret word was a bit challenging, until I decided the second word was not AT.
I got the first three words quickly (IMPOSE has been a tough one for me in the past) but GARAGE took me a while to figure out. For the final answer, I felt that the first word should end in ED and the second word should be ON. However, there was no N in the answer letter layout. At this point, I saw the word PROGRAMMED. The second word followed easily. However, I am a little confused by the answer (chalk it to me being a non-native speaker). What does ‘PROGRAMMED TO’ mean? Shouldn’t it be PROGRAMMED TO something?
