Visual Description: Rural real estate agent.
WYENL = NEWLY, NAXEN = ANNEX, ETIRVD = DIVERT, TALWEL = WALLET — Giving us: NLNEDIAL
Clue/Question: The real estate agent who specialized in selling large tracts of property, had a – – –
Answer: LANDLINE
(Definitely more of a visual pun! The old style corded telephone, and deliberately showing the wall jack. And, all the photos of farm land type properties. Looks like a scene from one of the old TV series, like Petticoat Junction, or Green Acres. Could be a young Sam Drucker. Or, maybe The Andy Griffith Show. He looks a little like Howard Sprague, too. Ralis95 will have to update his world famous clue word database, for the word “wallet”. That is if he hasn’t succumbed to the ridiculously high heat, that’s been wreaking havoc in the Southwest. The jumble for “annex” gave me some pause, and it turns out they’ve used it before. If I kept lists, like Vijay does, I’d have to put it on one of them. S’about it. Be well and do good . . . friends.) — YUR

I *loved* the wall jack image, and this is a pun that Henri Arnold & Bob Lee definitely could NOT have used 30+ years ago!
ANNEX did give me problems as well, UR! It was in my “tough words” list, and has now moved to the “tougher words” list. The final answer was obvious and came to me instantly.
DIVERT took me the longest. Once I got the clue letters, I saw LAND right away. The cartoon was cute; I did wonder why he didn’t have a cell phone…..
ANNEX was difficult for me as well. Though the rest of the jumbles were relatively easy and the final answer only took a few seconds.
