(An unusually challenging Sunday Jumble!  Not all of the jumbles were easy to unscramble, and the answer was a bit of a challenge.  None of the clue words were new, but five of the jumbles came up as new.  We’ve seen “cabeno” in the past.  The answer letter layout was another masterpiece.  I thought it gave nothing away.  Initially, I thought that the first word was FOUR, and I tried to make something out of DANTIMLAON, to no avail.  But, at least I knew that the second part of the hyphenated word was going to end in TION.  I was thinking something LATION, something MATION, or somethig DATION.  Fortunately, in the DANMLA the word LAND kind of stood out.  That made me realize that I was putting the FOUR in the wrong spot, and the answer came together.  Great cartoon, and a great Jumble.  Hopefully, some day I’ll get out there to see Mount Rushmore . . . and Yellowstone . . . and Yosemite . . . and the Grand Canyon.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Really tough Jumble (maybe tougher in my case because I had no picture to look at)! SUMMER and BEACON were the only words that came instantly to me, although none took very long either. For the final answer, I was stuck for a while. Finally, I realized that the second part of the second word was likely to end in TION. I tried FOUN-DATION but could not make anything sensible out of RMLA for the first word. I then tried FORM-ATION but I needed one more letter for the second word. Then, it struck me: FOUR-MATION, making for a nice pun as well. Unscrambling the remaining letters was easy and it gave me LAND.

UR, I did it exactly the same way as you! I really thought that the first word was FOUR and I figured out that TION was probably part of the second word. After some time I came up with FOUR “LAND-MATION” and that didn’t make any sense. Finally, I realized that it was LAND “FOUR-MATION”. The jumbles took a lot of thinking also. All and all, this one was very tough for me!

I caught up to this puzzler two days ago. Worked through the clue letters pretty quickly. Then hit a rock wall! 🙂

I pretty much followed Vijay’s and our Unc’s path, but could not put it together with the letters left over, or being short a letter or two with other words I came up with. Then, going through the list of words I had found, this time when I saw formation…..voila FOUR-MATION. But I really didn’t think I had it solved until I got to the blog. In my mind it was not a LAND formation and really thought that I’d find a different answer here. But I had run out of ideas. So, in a sense, I threw in the towel! LL

No, you didn’t, LindaLee. You just over-thought it, to the point where you ended up doubting yourself. Happens to the best of us. We all know you’re not a quitter.
