“Nothing is impossible for the man who doesn’t have to do it himself.” — A. H. Weiler
(A very amusing and truthful quote! This appears to be the first A. H. Weiler quote, since I’ve been posting these spoilers. He – Abe – was a writer, editor and film critic, at the New York Times, for over 50 years, but there is next to nothing on him as far as a biography goes. Even his NY Times obit was fairly brief. Kind of strange. He lived to the ripe old age of 93, and had been retired for about 23 years, so maybe he just outlived most of the people who could have written about him. Still . . . a little sad. One nice thing is that he was friends with the writer Richard Condon, and knowing that Abe had once wanted to be a doctor, Mr. Condon often used a character named Dr. Weiler in many of his stories. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
