Clue/Question:  When Donald and Daffy teamed up to make a movie, it was a huge – – –

Answer:  PRODUCKSTION

(Hey!  This is kind of a double pun too.  They’re both ducks, and they’re both pros!  I love it!  Of course, anything with cartoon characters works for me!  No new clue words again.  Three of the four jumbles came up as new, with only “pinnak” having definitely been used before.  The answer letter layout was a superlative jumble.  It gave nothing away.  I was always a big fan of both of the ducks.  Even though they always played second fiddle to Bugs and Mickey, I always thought they were funnier.  But then again, I always wanted the Coyote to catch the Road-Runner too!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

I’m fine with Daffy and Donald. Just keep DUCK DYNASTY out of it …

Super pun! Not easy at all. USHER was not instant. For the final answer, my first thought was that DUCK was the last part of the word. After staring at the computer for a while, I figured that POR-TIONS was the rest of the answer, but POR-TIONS-DUCK made no sense. Then, it struck me. How about PRO for the first part? PRO-DUCKS-TION followed from there. Lovely, lovely pun.

Pro Duck tion would have worked better. No need for the extra ” s” in Ducks….

Those guys are duck hunters, right, hal? That would put them more in the Elmer Fudd category! Yeah. We don’t need those guys! — YUR

I’m sure the guys considered both answers, Smitty. They just wanted to play up that there was more than one duck in the deal. — YUR

There is another pun buried in the art. Check out the book (probably a script) on the table between Donald and Daffy. The title is “Animal Quackers.” That’s a reference to the terrific Marx Brothers comedy “Animal Crackers.” But also, since the cartoon and the Jumble solution is about ducks, we get Quackers. YUR, thank you for blog…it’s great fun.

Fantastic, Wheeler! And, didn’t the Marx Brothers also do a little film called Duck Soup!?!? There are a lot of layers to this one!

You’re welcome! Days like today make doing this blog worthwhile.
