“When there is information, there is enlightenment. When there is debate, there are solutions.” — Atifete Jahjaga
(Wow! I am REALLY not up on my Kosovo politics! Their debates must be a whole lot more civil than ours are. Our debates just usually end up in shouting matches, and insults. I would really look forward to the first woman Pesident, here in the U.S., if it was going to be Elizabeth Warren. I REALLY don’t like the way Ms. Clinton conducts herself. I consider it shameful, and very likely criminal. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

The question, UR, is whether you prefer Trump. Cos, let’s face it, those are our choices!!!
Don’t let yourself be taken in by the corporate media, Vijay. Bernie Sanders is still a viable candidate, whether he wrestles the Democratic nomination from Hillary at the convention, or if he chooses to wage a third party run. — YUR
Interesting! One of my friends said that, a few days ago, a kid (probably about 10 years old) was riding his bike in loops around her neighborhood, ringing his bell, and shouting, “Vote for Bernie!! Feel the Bern! Support Bernie Sanders!!” He does have support!
Are you trying to be funny, Vijay? I don’t think I like this side of you. — YUR
Funny? I was just reporting an actual incident. Not sure what upset you there, UR.
I think I see what bothered you, UR. Perhaps the last sentence seemed like I was making fun of Bernie, and by connection, you. Let me assure you that was not the intent at all. I was simply agreeing with you that he does have support, as demonstrated by this kid (who was presumably speaking on behalf of his parents) in my friend’s neighborhood. UR, you told me not to make a judgment about Elon Musk based on one talk; yet, you made a judgment about me based on a statement on a blog, where you could not even see my face or the emotions on it. 🙂
I’m just sick and tired of the utter disrespect shown to Bernie Sanders, and his supporters, by the corporate media, the Clinton campaign, and most of her supporters, despite Bernie’s victories, the attendance of his rallies, and the online polls that show him doing significantly better than Hillary against Trump. It’s a kind of disrespect that precludes my sense of humor. We’re not talking about a relative handful of nerdy Nader-ites. This is roughly half of all registered Democrats, and a crapload of Independents and smaller party voters, who are being treated like something you have to scrape off your shoe.
If it hadn’t taken you 5 days to reply I might be more inclined to buy into your innocence, but as it stands I’m not buying it, Vijay. Stay, or go, but don’t expect to guilt me into some kind of apology.
— YUR
UR, the reason I took 5 days to reply is because I hadn’t seen your comment until yesterday! My email gives me notification of your first posting but not the subsequent ones. I just happened to look at some old posts and it was then that I saw it. Believe me if you wish to, your choice. It’s unbelievable how people can take offence where none is meant. I actually like Bernie!
Let me tell you one more thing, UR. I don’t even know you, and may never see you in my life. So, I don’t owe you any apology at all for my feelings. However, I love your blog and respect you as an older person, which is why I even bothered to explain my thought process. If you choose not to believe me, that’s fine, but this is the last time I will be writing on this topic. I will simply say that you are not following your own principle of not judging a person based on one remark, which in this case was not even remotely meant to be insulting. Geez!
If you can’t see how your comment – written as it was – was insulting, I can’t help you, Vijay. You judged Elon Musk based on a brief speech you heard, whereas you’ve been commenting here for months. Which is why it was surprising and hurtful. I didn’t make a big deal of it then. I just stated my displeasure.
I appreciate your other comments, and you are always welcome here, so it’s probably best that we just drop the matter.
— YUR
UR, I didn’t mean it to be insulting. Re-reading it, from my point of view, it isn’t insulting and was in fact meant to agree with you that yes, Bernie does have support (I was actually excited to share that little boy’s excitement). However, now that you say that you interpreted my comments otherwise, I can see how it could have been taken out of context. My problem was not with your initial displeasure, it was with you not believing me when I said it was not intentional. THAT is something I wasn’t happy about. After all, why would I take the effort to try and make you understand my intentions if I meant to insult or hurt you? Please don’t make judgments based on the number of days it takes to reply. Remember that I don’t solve the Cryptoquote (I solve the Cryptoquip instead), so I don’t check these posts as often as I do the Jumble ones.
