#FirstLineFriday

“U were born on the hottest Goddam day of the year!  At least that’s what your Mom always said was your Dad’s biggest complaint that day.”  The first line of The Story of U (working title), semi-started . . . sort of.  What do you think, guys?

I was challenged to try First Line Friday by Deidra Alexander at https://deidraalexander.com/.  Okay, Deidra.  It looks like I have accepted your challenge.

You can play along at home. Here’s what you do.

  1. Create a post on your blog titled #FirstLineFriday, hashtag and all.
  2. Explain the rules like I’m doing now.
  3. Post the first one or two lines of a potential work, a work-in-progress, or a completed or published story.
  4. Ask your readers for feedback and then encourage them to try #FirstLineFriday on their blogs (tagging is encouraged but not necessary).

(Who better than a priest – the ultimate mama’s boy – to laud the virtues of mom!  Has there ever been another woman in his life?  Especially for him, there is no one who can compete!  No wonder so many mothers are delighted when their sons join the priesthood.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Answer:  HOLE BUSINESS

(Better pun, today.  Yesterday’s was a bit of a stretch.  There were no new clue words today, but three of the jumbles came up as new.  We heave seen “wherds” before.  The clue word “bossy” spells out in alphabetical order.  Nice long answer letter layout.  Might have been tougher if “exile” and “bossy” were swapped.  Maybe not.  Great cartoon.  All things being equal, I like outdoor scenes better than the indoor ones.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
