Jumble Spoiler – 05/04/16

Visual Description:  Alternate universes.

Clue/Question:  Her husband had made plans to build her a new bookcase today, but he – – –

(Not physically, of course!  LOL!  All bets are off during the playoffs, ladies!  We get to drink and eat . . . and fart more.  And, work and bathe less!  That’s just us.  It kind of makes up for having to hold your purse at the department store, when you go try on that bathing suit that you’re probably never going to buy.  No new clue words today.  “No soup for you!”  And, only the jumble “pynheh” is coming up as new.  The other three have definitely been used before.  Fine job on the answer letter layout.  It’s the fifth jumble.  Very domestic cartoon.  Mission accomplished.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

A cute followup to yesterday’s MISLAID THEM … what’ll the Jumble guys think of next?
I’m not so sure about that Arabian proverb. It might be a corollary of “Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt” (often attributed to Abraham Lincoln). In the current environment, however, it’s all too easy to have your press secretary “clarify” your comments, or – I’m not calling anybody out specifically – just say something totally different at the next campaign event. Few people eat their words anymore.

My wife tries on a lot of clothes AND buys some, too (although I must admit her purchases have reduced a lot since the birth of our kids). 😉 I had some trouble with VALET (VETAL came to mind first), and DROWSY was not instant either. The final answer, on the other hand, was. 10 seconds, total. Was disappointed I couldn’t hit single figures.

I also had a bit of trouble with VALET– it took me a bit of time. The rest of the jumbles came instantly, though. And the final answer didn’t give me much trouble 🙂
