Answer:  IN THEIR PRIME

(Talking worms . . . doing their impressions of numbers . . . and they had arms, man!  Next time they tell you to stay away from the brown acid, you better stay away from the brown acid!  And now, for a Barbara Waltersesque question.  If you could be a number, what kind of number would you be?  Would you be a snooty prime number, or would you rather be a complex composite number?  A simple, homogeneous loaner, or a blended amalgam of your fellow numbers?  Are you one of those representational rednecks, that’s into numeric purity, or do you embrace the diverse digital blend?  I would be an 8.  Hey, it’s also the sign for infinity . . . and how cool is that?!?!  Either that or . . . 69, dude!  I’ve always been into the yin yang of that . . . in more ways than one.  Talk about fun with numbers!  Primes are kind of asexual, or homosexual at best.  Not that there’s anything wrong with that!  Hey.  If you’re wired that way . . . that’s cool.  I’m just attracted to more curvy figures!  Although, I have had a few skinny girls in my day.  The important thing is that we all have a common denominator.  But, I hear that numerators pay dividends.  And, in this economy, dividends are much more attractive than interest.  Are we having fun, yet???

There were no new clue words today, but three of the four jumbles appear to be new.  They have used “cinem” before.  I breezed through the first three jumbles, but “ruspre” kind of stumped me.  I had to back into “purser”.  It’s a pretty specific word, that doesn’t come up all that often.  The answer letter layout was awesome!  I’m surprised that I was able to get the answer without the PER.  Jeff’s cool cartoon, and the leading nature of the clue/question were what saved me.  The fact that I was able to recognize two, three, five and seven as prime numbers is a minor miracle.  Not too bad for a guy who barely passed Algebra . . . the second time around.  Be well . . . count your blessings . . . and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Being a lover of Math and numbers, I loved this Jumble! Great pun! I had a little bit of trouble with HECTIC, although it was in my “tougher words” list and has now moved to the “tough words” list, so my lists are doing their job. 🙂 I initially typed in SUPPER for the fourth word, when I realized that there were two R’s and not two P’s. I got PURSER right after that. The final answer struck me right away.

I had trouble with HECTIC. Had to sort of back into it, as I had to fiddle with possible letters with the remaining answer letters after IN and PRIME.
