(A brilliant man, who was one of the founders of the environmental movement.  This makes for a great Earth Day quote!  Google usually celebrates holidays and famous – and not so famous – events with a single customized masthead, but today there are many with the Earth Day theme.  They all show the rich diversity of our beautiful planet.  Check them out.  Be well and do good – to the earth – every day!)   —   YUR

Catty-Cornered (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

(Some of my New York City area friends might take issue with today’s answer.  While I grew up always saying kitty-corner, it is catty-corner to the majority of folk in the greater NYC vicinity.  Merriam Webster’s seems to prefer kitty-corner, while listing catty-corner as a “variant”.  Vive la difference!  No new clue words today.  However, three of the jumbles are coming up as new.  We’ve definitely seen “torbo” before.  All of today’s jumbles came to me instantly.  The answer letter layout was a fantastic jumble today.  Not obvious in the least.  Amusing cartoon.  The vast majority of calico cats are female, but occasionally you’ll get a rare male calico.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —    YUR
