(A lot of us don’t consider those rules all that “simple”, and what is he talking about with “meaningless marks on paper”?  We need visual representation of numbers and mathematical equations!  Don’t we?  The older I get, the more appreciation I have for math.  I wish I had better explanations about the practical and theoretical applications of math when I was young.  I don’t like to blame my teachers, but there definitely was a disconnect going on that prevented/discouraged me from grasping the power of math.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
