Answer: MOBBED
( . . . up? Ooh! Old Scarface better watch his back. That No-Chin Hoyt Gang are some hardcore bad-asses! LOL! Today’s Jumble was a lot of fun. None of the clue words were new, and only a couple of the jumbles were new. And, the answer certainly wasn’t very tough. But, the cartoon was a Jeff Knurek masterpiece! Full of great characters, and lots of detail. All the suits and ties, and fedoras. The one guy with a boutonniere. The Tommy Gun on the front table, and all the guys stabbing at their steaks with these dubious looking knives. I’m a little undecided whether the guy in the bow-tie is a reporter, or Al’s accountant. Oh, yeah. Nice answer letter layout. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
PS. Big Congrats to the Villanova Men’s Basketball team! I didn’t have a dog in the fight, so I didn’t really watch it, until switching over near the end of the 11 o’clock news. I missed North Carolina’s tying 3-pointer, and it looked like Villanova had probably taken a time out. There were 4.7 seconds left on the clock, and Villanova had to inbound the ball and drive the length of the court. So, I was thinking . . . Over Time! But, No! Jenkins inbounds the ball to this shifty guard, who takes it straight up the middle. It looks like he might take it all the way, or maybe pass off to one of his guys jostling around in the paint. But instead, he just kind of drops it off at the top of the circle for Jenkins, who had been trailing him all the way up court. The N.C. guys were probably thinking like me and weren’t too concerned with Jenkins, but he just calmly launches his own 3-pointer. It left his hands with like .5, or .6, second on the clock, and he nailed it. The announcers couldn’t believe it. The mainly North Carolina crowd couldn’t believe it. And the Villanova team mobbed Jenkins, who was just looking like: Yeah, I make that shot all the time. It was definitely one of the greatest finishes of all time. Perhaps The Best. The only thing I didn’t like was the way TNT covered all the disappointed North Carolina players and fans, and none of the ecstatic Villanova fans. North Carolina had been the favored team, and pretty much all the “experts” had them winning it. I thought it was a disservice to Villanova and their fans. But, they are the winners. And, that’s all that matters to them. — YUR

I had a brain freeze today. Got the four words easily, but for the final answer I first thought it was BOMBED. That didn’t work, and so I was lost for a little bit. I tried BEDBOM, knowing it wasn’t a real word, and then it struck me – MOBBED. Duh!
So happy that Villanova won. Not a NC fan.
Another good one today, though I had a bit of a problem with Damage. Not because I didn’t get it, but while I spelled it right in my head, I pronounced it wrong a couple times! The cartoon is great, though the waiter looks to be a member of the ‘No Chins’ as well.
So happy that someone else enjoyed the cartoon, midwest dude! Sometimes it’s like writing to the wall. — YUR
I also initially thought the answer was ‘bombed’. I thought maybe it was a reference to the name of Al’s favorite restaurant, and was a historical fact I didn’t know! =)
I think I’m going to go out and get ‘bombed’! — YUR
