The person who is brutally honest enjoys the brutality quite as much as the honesty.”   —   Richard J. Needham

(“Possibly more.” is the rest of the quote.  A lot of people just seem to lack that little filter that prevents us from saying hurtful, yet technically honest, things to each other.  I’m sure it’s more learned behavior, than an actual physical aspect of the brain.  With those kind of people you just take what they say with a grain of salt.  But others definitely adopt the behavior on purpose.  They try to candy coat it by calling it refreshingly honest, but there is definitely an underlying bitterness to it.  We all should follow the golden rule, and try to choose our words thoughtfully.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

DEEGH  =  HEDGE,  SIRYK  =  RISKY,  FEALNI  =  FINALE,  SUWINE  =  UNWISE   —   Giving us:  HEDRISNAENIS

Clue/Question:  He planned to wash and wax his car early today and was ready to  – – –

Answer:  RISE AND SHINE

(All familiar clue words today.  A couple of the jumbles seem to be new, though we’ve definitely seen “siryk” and “suwine” before.  The answer letter layout was the best jumble of the day.  If you had to rely on it to get the answer you would be hard pressed to do so.  It was the leading nature of the clue/question, combined with the great cartoon – and its dialog – that made the answer pretty evident.  All the experts are saying that the University of Syracuse doesn’t stand a chance tonight against North Carolina.  Well, 50 years ago they were saying that tiny Texas Western didn’t stand a chance against Adolph Rupp and his University of Kentucky Wildcats.  The Miners upset the heavily favored Wildcats 72 – 65.  Never say never, folks!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
