Answer:  BIG FAN

(A Saturday gimme!  Actually feels like a re-run, too.  No new clue words, but three of the jumbles are coming up as new.  We’ve seen “esege” before.  “Annoy” is another one of those words that spell out alphabetically.  The answer letter layout was fine.  Always enjoy Jeff’s King Kong, and Mighty Joe Young, cartoons!  Very amusing.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Anything but a gimme for me! I had never heard of GERBIL before, so I had a lot of trouble solving it. I tried GIBLER and BIGLER and they didn’t work (I solve the Jumble online, so if I don’t type in the right word it doesn’t get accepted), so I looked at the clue. Thankfully, it was a six letter answer and a really obvious one at that. That gave me BI for the two circled letters for the last word. I figured that it must be —BI- rather than —IB-, but it still took me a while to come up with the actual word. If not for the fact that the online version allows me to KNOW that I got the answer, I might never have solved this one (or “solved” it incorrectly, say LERBIG).

Gerbil: A popular (one time) rodent pet, that also got caught up in a funky urban myth involving a paper towel tube and . . . ugh! I don’t think you need to hear the rest. LOL! — YUR

Gerbil was different so it took me a bit of time. Cartoon was neat. Though I first thought his right hand was a billfold. Or a Murse (man purse). 😀
