Answer:  KEEP IT UNDER HIS HAT

(Verrry loooong answer today!  17 letters!  Very literal pun though.  That might have thrown some of you.  All of the clue words were old favorites today, and four of the jumbles were new.  We’ve definitely seen both “toshoe” and “herdin” before.  I thought the answer letter layout was very impressive.  A wonderfully long jumble that gave away nothing.  The cartoon was pretty standard fare today.  Not bad, just not great.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

I don’t normally do the Sunday jumble, but I had time today. FIASCO was the toughest one. The others took a lot of time also. The cartoon was easiest by comparison.

I have a request, UR. I don’t get the Sunday newspaper, so I rely on your blog to solve the (paper version of the) Sunday Jumble. It would be great if you could indicate, for the final answer, the number of words and the number of letters in each of those words. For this Jumble, for instance, I knew that we must have KEEP HIS in the answer but, without more information, it was really hard to unscramble the URTHNDIAET. Thanks!

    Vijay,

There are plenty like you who don’t get the Sunday paper, and I know it is not available online. I never thought about it before, but I like your suggestion. This could get more of the followers to check in on Sundays! I just edited yesterday’s spoiler. Take a look, and see if this would allow you to play, without the benefit of online, or news print.

This is great, UR! I will be solving the Sunday Jumbles now. 🙂 Damid, FIASCO came easy to me. I found HINDER the hardest, followed by SOOTHE (although I have seen both these words before and even seen the same jumble for HINDER).

Do me a favor and remind me, so I don’t forget Vijay. — YUR

I wish I had remembered TOSHOE! I’ve been stuck on that jumbled word for days! Had some real time this morning to work it out, finally! Geesh, so simple. Then worked through the rest of the puzzler and badading — I’m ready for this past Monday’s Jumbler. They are all lined up for me. I have a goal to get them all completed before Sunday!

And what a grand idea for those who don’t get Sunday’s paper. LL
