Answer:  SWAN SONG

(Not quite sure why she’s wearing a crown.  Maybe, because she’s a diva?  It’s cute though!  I don’t think the answer should have been all that tough for anyone to get.  We do have one new clue word today, in “swampy”.  It’s possible we’ve had it in the past, but that probably would have been on a Sunday, when ralis95 doesn’t always catch them.  Three of the jumbles came up as new, with “finsf” having been used before.  I always appreciate the kind of clue letter groupings like we had today.  Makes my job just that much easier!  The answer letter layout was another nifty jumble.  And, it’s a super cartoon!  I always enjoy Jeff’s ducks and geese.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

PS.  Congrats to Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos, on their impressive Super Bowl 50 victory!  Was this Peyton’s swan song???  Before the game, my brother and I were saying if Denver played their game then it was going to be a low scoring game.  Some guy in the newspaper was saying the game would be over 44 points!  Pssshh!  What a maroon!      YUR

Yes, the final answer was real easy today. SNIFF and GALLEY took a *tiny* bit of thought. I didn’t care too much about either team yesterday (Pats are my team) but had a slight preference for the Panthers. Sadly, it was not to be. The Denver D was awesome. They basically carried Peyton to the win.

With the tightness of almost all of the games leading up to SB50, even a non-stat person like me knew the game would not be HIGH scoring!

SWAMPY had me grabbing my paper to work it out. Got it quickly though. And the answer was right there in the picture! Good Monday jumbler!!

Are you a transplant, from New England, Vijay? Are you a fellow Michigan alum, like Jeff Knurek? — YUR

I think it was mainly due to Carolina’s blow out of Arizona that inspired the high under/over, LL. It was reminiscent of Super Bowl XXV. The Bills had DESTROYED Oakland in the AFC Championship game, so the under/over for the Supe was high there as well. Bills were favored back then, as the Panthers were favored this year. Both years the underdog won by the under! — YUR

Neither, UR. I have some close friends who studied at Michigan, and they got me into football and subsequently the Pats. It also helped that they were a really good team!
