Photo of a dog behind a chain-link fence at the Paws and More No Kill Animal Shelter in Washington, Iowa. I took this picture. This looks just like my dog Yuma. He was from a shelter in Evanston Il. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

(Punderful!  The “alpha” shopper liked to “twirl” her way to get the “lavish” “locket”.  Which one of our readers used to do this with the clue words???  Was it JT?  Could be.  It’s all kind of a blur to me by now.  None of today’s clue words are new, but three of the jumbles came up as new, for me.  Hoyt has definitely used “palah” before.  The answer letter layout was an admirably constructed jumble.  I don’t think it gave anything away.  Knurek’s cartoon sets the tone perfectly.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

PS.  The family and I got ourselves a new family member, from a local animal shelter.  Wally!  He’s believed to be a 2 year old yellow lab and chow chow mix.  But, who really knows?!  I guess we could have a DNA test done on him, but it’s not all that important.  He’s medium sized, with short golden fur, a short muzzle and a semi-stocky build.  He’s no Ginger!  No dog will ever be.  But, he’s got a sweet disposition and he seems to be acclimating well.  So far, no accidents.  Knock wood!   The house feels more complete again.   —   YUR

So how ’bout a picture of Wally, instead of just a teaser?!

Art (and one of my female cats is also named Wally)

GREAT clue today! ALPHA took me a second, and I initially thought it was CLOTHE. Then, I realized that there was no H. LOCKET then came to me right away. For the final answer, I initially thought the last two words were “AT HER”, but there as no R. After some thought, I typed AT ALL for those words. However, I couldn’t make any sensible word out of LHEVI. Then, it struck me: “HALVE” IT ALL. Very nice!

A home with kids, without a dog, is not a home. Congrats!
