More helpful than all wisdom is one draft of human pity that will not forsake us.”   —   George Eliot

(I’ve seen this one with draft spelt draught, and also with the word simple preceding the word human.  Sympathy and empathy are more necessary than many people think.  If you have them, now, try not to lose them.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Answer:  COOKWEAR

Just a hint, for those of you who might be struggling to get today’s answer.  The answer is definitely a pun, that plays on what you’re seeing in the background of the cartoon.  Gotta run.   —   YUR

(Well, alrighty then!  I thought more of you were going to be like me.  I got all the clue words instantly, but I found both the cartoon’s dialog and the clue/question a little awkward.  None of the clue words are new, but three of the jumbles appear to be new.  We’ve definitely seen “shikw” before.  I thought the answer letter layout was . . . diabolical, to borrow a word from one of our truest followers.  I was seeing WORK and CROW and CORK, but I wasn’t seeing COOK for a few minutes.  The three words I was seeing were using too many consonants for the other four letter word segment.  But, I finally saw COOK and then COOKWARE, and then the pun sunk in!  The cartoon of Julia Child and Paul Cushing Child was very amusing.  I think Jeff’s wife forced him to watch Julie & Julia!  Be well and do good, friends.)   – – –   YUR
