Visual Description: Losing perspective?
NERDT = TREND, BIHTA = HABIT, THEWIG = WEIGHT, ENWIRN = WINNER — Giving us: TRNHAIIGHINN
Clue/Question: He struggled to lose weight, but he did have – – –
Answer: THINNING HAIR
(Poor guy! Why does it seem an expanding waistline is often accompanied by a receding hairline??? Sometimes, life is really not fair! Won’t know about new clue words for a few days, though none of them looked new. Three of the jumbles came up as new, with “nerdt” having definitely been used before. Another stellar answer letter layout. You really had to key into the cartoon to get today’s answer. With the reduced sized cartoons it might be a little hard to see that the photo he is looking at has him with a full head of hair. Hopefully, you were all able to see that. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
Great clue today! WEIGHT gave me just a little bit of trouble. For the final answer, I wrote GAIN immediately for the second word but then could not get anything sensible for the first word. I did think that the first word could end in ING but I was still hooked to GAIN as the second word. Mind you, up to this point, I had only read the clue statement. Finally, I gave up on this line of reasoning and read the dialog in the cartoon. Then, all of a sudden, it occurred to me – THINNING HAIR! The dialog had all the clue needed to get the final answer. Teaches me a lesson: read the full Jumble and not just the clue statement!
Btw, I am curious UR. How do you know if the jumbles are new or old but don’t know if the clue words are new or old?
That’s right, Vijay! You can do most of these by taking shortcuts, but all you’re really doing is kind of cheating yourself.

The clue word database is compiled by a long-time reader, and friend to the blog, ralis95. He sends me an updated, read only, copy quarterly, sometimes a little more frequently. I track the jumbled words through WordPress’s Tag “database”. If I’ve tagged the word in the past WordPress will show me when I try to enter it as a new Tag. — YUR
Very interesting! Thanks for the explanation UR. 🙂
Grand jumbler — thinning hair!! Tricky too. I was looking for “weight” answers. But when working on four letter words, I came up with hair…TADA…got it! Thanks guyz! AND you too UNC!
