Clue/Question:  The bodybuilder asked his friend for a ride to the gym because he – – –

Answer:  NEEDED A LIFT

(I like it!  Since I injured my knee I haven’t been able to do any cardio, but I still like to go to the gym, three times a week, to work my upper body.  I’m still far from being a hard body, but I have firmed up quite a bit, and have added some sorely needed muscle.  No new clue words today.  However, three of the jumbles came up as new.  We’ve seen “weerpt”, some time ago.  The answer letter layout was a marvelous jumble, that gave nothing away.  As usual, the cartoon was a lot of fun.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Strange cartoon captions today. The answer word was there in the caption…as needed.
Have a great day , YUR.

    Thanks for the jumble fun!

Hope all is well, Unc! Still Jumbling here!

The clue words were very easy today. Got them all instantly. For the final solution, it was obvious that the second word was A. It took me a few seconds to guess that the first word was NEEDED, and LIFT followed after that. Took 21 seconds overall.

    JT, Marc, and Vijay:

A couple of old-timers and the new guy! Nice hearing from all of you.

You’re right, JT! Every now and then the guys kind of slip up a little. But, the bigger part of the pun was LIFT.

    Keep Jumbling, Marc!

Good to hear that you’re satisfied with your times, Vijay. I just hope that’s not the only enjoyable aspect of puzzle for you.

Absolutely, UR. I love puzzles of any kind (jumble, Sudoku, cryptoquip, …). They keep my brain sharp and offer a break from daily tedium. However, I also love numbers and statistics and try to keep improving. The timings are just a way of tracking that part. I enjoy the jumble no matter how short or long I take. 🙂

A small typo (very rare in this blog): DADDCI = CANDID should be DANDCI = CANDID

Thank you, BobE! This actually kind of fits a recent discussion on writing and typing the wrong letters! (I expect the spell-check to underline the typed in jumble, so I don’t pay it as much attention as the real words.) I will be sure to correct it!
