Clue/Question: The new one-story house for sale at the bottom of the Grand Canyon was a – – –
Answer: BUNGA–LOW
(How quaint! Little House on the Floodplain. I kind of doubt that this little house would have the staying power of yesterday’s Jumble! We had over 4300 queries yesterday, mainly because of that Jumble. Today’s, by comparison, was much easier. All old favorite clue words, and two of the jumbles, “nurkt” and “moylog” have also been used before. The answer letter layout was a nifty jumble, but it couldn’t hide this fairly easy answer. Great, rustic cartoon! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

It did have the staying power for me. 😦 For about a minute I just couldn’t figure out the final answer, until I finally realized that ‘bottom of the Grand Canyon’ meant that the second part of the answer was likely LOW. The rest followed easily, of course, and I understood the pun after the fact. In hindsight (which is always 20/20) this should have been so obvious. I am in a three-day slump. Hope tomorrow brings better disting (that’s jumbled TIDINGS).
I had more trouble with bungalow than I did staying power.
“Fairly easy answer”?!!!
I am reminded of the old story of a college professor, let’s say of physics, who is lecturing a class. He says “it is obvious that…” and pauses.
He walks over to the window, staring vacantly for a few minutes, and then returns to the lecture.
“Yes, it is obvious that…;”
