(MAJOR groans! This is one of the oldest jokes in the books. But, I believe the original gag revolved around pirates’ earrings. Anyhow, there were no new clue words today. Our pal, ralis95, can stand down. Three of the jumbles came up as new, with “narmen” having been used before. The answer letter layout was a nifty, cryptic jumble. The cartoon makes up for the stale joke. A real spiffy looking pirate, with a puffy shirt, pantaloons, snee, and a corsair’s hat. And, we also got the classic sinking sailboat on the horizon! I actually found this to be a great clue, probably because I had not heard the joke before. I initially guessed A-BUCK-AN-ARE for some reason and was stuck on that for quite some time. Finally, after around 30 seconds, I tried EAR instead of ARE and then understood the joke after the fact!
I have hammered through so many awesome Jumblers!!!! But I’ve been so far behind that I didn’t post, have not really been on the computer.
I loved this jumbler! I had to actually figure it out. But so interesting about the earring!!
