Answer:  BREAKING OUT

(Keep those pores clean!  The clue words were all old favorites today, with three of the jumbles being new.  We have definitely seen “sokik” before.  The answer letter layout was a wonderful jumble, that gave nothing away.  This was one of those figurative and literal puns, and the clue/question set it up so it would be pretty hard to miss.  The cartoon’s dialog was like a bonus clue.  Super cartoon though.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

I really believe there are things which nobody would see if I didn’t photograph them.”   —   Diane Arbus

(To an extent, I think she is one of the reasons why Americans seem so nostalgic for the 1950s.  Back then, Americans were blithely ignorant of the “ugly” of the the world, until she started photographing the people and places that ran counter to the general message of optimism and prosperity.   She provided the wake-up call that way too many people would rather not have answered.  Ike was in the White House.  The economy was booming, the budgets were balanced, and everything was all white . . . er right.  It was good for – most of – the country’s psyche, for a time, but reality should never be denied for too long.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
