Clue/Question:  When he showed his wife the abacus he’d bought, she thought it was – – –

Answer:  AWESUM

(I guess we’d have to call this a classic stinky pun!  All the clue words were old favorites, however all the jumbles came up as new for me.  The only one that gave me any trouble was “nocube”.  It’s always a little tricky, for me, when a single syllable word sounds out as a two, or three, syllable jumble.  For a short answer, the answer letter layout was pretty decent.  The quotation marks around the answer blocks made it pretty easy to get.  It’s nice seeing Jeff incorporate a little more of his family vacation in his cartoons!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Since we cannot change reality, let us change the eyes which see reality.”   —   Nikos Kazantzakis

(So sorry for not getting this up before today!  I think I set it aside, because I didn’t have the author’s full name, and I was going to look it up, but I guess I forgot.  To me, this is the perfect quote to direct to the Kim Davis crowd.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Fame is a vapor, popularity an accident, and riches take wings.  Only one thing endures and that is character.”   —   Horace Greeley

(Great Greeley quote!  It took a little extra for me to get FAME, VAPOR, TAKE and WINGS.  I had to write out what were – up to that point – the unused consonants of:  BFJKMQVWXZ to figure them out.  I pretty much already knew it was VAPOR, TAKE and WINGS, because they were only missing one letter each.  But they kind of had to be confirmed before I could get FAME.  It all made perfect sense when I was done though.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
