(Not a bad pun.  We actually have another new clue word today, in “coddle”.  This must be added to the world famous ralis95 clue word database posthaste . . . and forthwith.  Or, whenever he gets around to it.  Three of the jumbles were new to me, with “rowns” definitely having been used here before.  Pretty cryptic answer letter layout.  Nothing obvious.  The cartoon is great!  Kind of a cartoonish rendition of Edward Hopper’s Nighthawks.  A great ’40s piece of Americana.  Edward Hopper was born and raised in Nyack, NY, very near to where yer uncle currently lives.  His house is now a cultural center/gallery.  Been there a few times.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
