Answer:  LAND A NEW JOB

(This should have been as clear as the nose on my face, but I did not see it for a while.  I did know that one of the words was A!  Pure genius!  But, I was thinking that the first word was either DOWN or BLOW.  Of course those words didn’t leave me much to work with.  Eventually, my pea-brain said:  Hey!  Wait a minute.  There’s a J out there!  How many relevant words would be using a J?  So, I smacked my forehead, and figured out JOB.  Remember, I still knew the single letter word was A.  So, I took EDLWNNA and was finally able to see LAND and NEW.  No.  I’m not too proud to admit it when I’m not on my A game.

There were no new clue words today, but three of the jumbles came up as new, for me.  We have definitely seen “beata” before.  I have known one Beata in my lifetime.  I have to credit the answer letter layout with keeping me in the dark for a while.  It was a beautifully cryptic jumble.  And, I didn’t find anything obvious about it.  Fine cartoon.  Clearly, the jet airplane had landed, but apparently that wasn’t enough of a clue for me.  Do you think today’s Jumble was designed to be a little less obvious?  Or, do you think it was just me?  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

It took me a long time to get “winner”, for some reason. I found it to be a little less obvious than normal as well. I think it might have had something to do with having four words instead of the usual 1, 2, or 3.

Some days, I think the guys design the jumbles with easier words to make us think we are brilliant. (of course, you actually are a Jumble Jenious, er, Genius, UR) =) Other days, seems like I’m the most brain-cell challenged person on the planet, and take forever to figure them all out. Keeps me humble! PS, UR, how is your wife? Hoping she’s leaping and bounding through her days and completely recovered from her surgery.

    Matt,

Glad I’m not the only one. And, you might be on to something! — YUR

    jenn,

Thanks for the praise! Wife is making progress, but not up to leaping and bounding yet. I was warned that recovery from a total knee replacement could take three to four months. PT is helping. — YUR 🙂
