English: Leaning Tower of Pisa, Italy. The lean of this tower has been tried to fix several times. The most recent time I believe was in 2001 when they tried to drill into the ground and pour cement underneath the sandy surface. Français : Tour de Pise, à Pise, en Italie. Deutsch: Der Schiefe Turm von Pisa in Italien. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Clue/Question: The Tower of Pisa‘s building inspectors were – – –
Answer: TOO “LEAN“-IENT
(This one was definitely a groaner! But, I liked it! There was plenty to like about today’s Jumble. No new clue words, but all of the jumbles came up as new. I really liked the ones for “agent” and “eyelid”. The answer letter layout was a great jumble, that didn’t give the answer away. I’m a little embarrassed to admit it, but the word “lean” did not come to me immediately, and my first impression was that the first word was NOT. Yer uncle is not always the sharpest knife in the drawer! But, something about the quotation marks must have triggered something in this old pea-brain of mine, and I prevailed. The cartoon has loads to like. The tower itself, which is already showing early signs of leaning, the corner of the cathedral, the builders and supervisors, and our fat and sassy, Middle Ages bureaucrats. It made for a nice Jumble. Makes me want to grab a panini! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
