Kroonland passes through the Pedro Miguel Lock...

Kroonland passes through the Pedro Miguel Locks of the Panama Canal on 23 October 1923. It was the liner’s first voyage on the New York – San Francisco route after an absence of eight years. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

The most beautiful thing in the world is, of course, the world itself.”   —   Wallace Stevens

(It is a wonder!  And, one that too many take for granted.  I believe this is the first Wallace Stevens quotation since I’ve been posting these spoilers.  It would be nice to see more.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

I got off to a rocky start, treating the author’s first name as WILLIAM (yeah, I know Unc Rave’s rule, always start with the quote, not the author’s name!). Should have gone with gut-cinch instinct that when first world of quote is three letters, it’s usually THE. And yes, it’s the first appearance of Wallace Stevens that I can recall, too.

My first inkling was William as well, but I held off when I saw that THINK couldn’t be THANK. I also thought WORLD was WOULD for a while. But, both of us eventually worked it out! — YUR
