Try to learn something about everything and everything about something.”   —   Thomas Huxley

(The only problem with this is that your interests become so varied, that it becomes too hard to focus on the one something.  I know I’ll never know everything about anything.  But, that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Definitely a 19th-century sentiment, Unc Rave, when an interested and well-rounded person could understand the latest in science, philosophy, art, etc. Still, Huxley’s epigram is a useful formula to prepare yourself for the average faculty-club cocktail party!

Maybe, in the 19th Century, “I coulda been a contender!” I *was* enjoying the Information Age, until more recently, but it has kind of overwhelmed this old boy. I’m still up there swinging! But, I don’t make contact as often as I used to. — YUR
