Answer:  WISHY-WASHY

(Ah, the struggle between obligation and desire!  It’s the age old problem.  I can tell you – from secondhand experience – that going the responsible route . . . can save your life.  My good friend, Dan, went into work on a Tuesday morning and suddenly remembered that he was supposed to attend a meeting at their uptown office.  It was starting to get late for leaving, and he had half a mind to just blow it off.  It wasn’t the most important meeting, and he could always blame his absence on subway delays, or something.  But then, his conscience kicked in, and he decided to do the responsible thing and go.  It’s a good thing that he did, and left when he did – at about 20 to 9:00.  That Tuesday was . . . 9/11/2001, and his office was in the North Tower of the World Trade Center.  It was hit at 8:46 AM.  He lost so much, in terms of friends and co-workers, we both did that day, but he had his life . . . and his wife and kids still had a husband and father.  So, always give a second and third thought to your obligations, folks.  There’ll be other “nice days”.

Hey, we seem to have another new clue word today, in “highly”  It kinda feels familiar to me, but I couldn’t find it in the ralis95 clue word database.  All the jumbles also came up as new, but none were too difficult for me.  The answer letter layout really couldn’t do much to hide today’s answer, especially with the great cartoon of laundry day.  Lots of detail.  The doggie looking out the window, showing the nice sunny day, and people enjoying being outdoors.  Very nice.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

I can and do aspire to be greater than the sum total of my experiences, but I accept my limitations.”   —   Sonia Sotomayor

(Our very first – of many, I hope – quotes from Justice Sotomayor.  It’s not saying exactly the same thing, but it puts me in mind of John Lennon’s:  “Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans.”  from “Beautiful Boy”.  We should have dreams and aspirations, but life is going to happen to us, whether we plan it or not.  Enjoy your weekend.  Enjoy your life.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
