Answer:  PAIR TREES

(Initially, a head scratcher.  But then . . . a major groaner!  “The Forest of Lost Scissors?”  Wow.  THAT is out there.  Did you know that in the New York City area there are a lot of people who will say/ask:  Do you/Can I have “a scissor”?  Not a pair of scissors, but “a scissor”.  It was one of the many little mind blowing aspects of getting used to the area.  None of the clue words were new today, but all of the jumbles came up as new, again.  I had some trouble solving “spoil” and “social”, but not to the point where I had to back into either of them.  The answer letter layout was masterful, again.  For a while, I didn’t know where the guys were going with this one!  I’m betting that there were a fair amount of you guys in the same boat as me.  Bizarre, but fun cartoon.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

PS.  Iris asked:  What do you mean when you write that there are no new clue words? I don’t understand, what clue words. Do you mean words in the drawing/puzzle or the riddle? Is that what you call the clue words? Thanks

Answer:  The four un-jumbled words (six on Sunday), with the circle boxes, to the left of the cartoon.  I compare them to the copy of a clue word database compiled by a gentleman who goes by “ralis95”.  If they’re already on the list then they’re not new.  “New” clue words are a fair rarity, but we see them from time to time.  I could not “confirm” your comment, as there was something hinky about how your IP/email address came over.  I need to protect the integrity of the blog!  LOL!     YUR

Without getting snippy! This *was* a head-scratcher, as 9 of the 10 letters are exceedingly common (1-point tiles in Scrabble), offering an avalanche of possibilities, like TIRE SPARE, RARE SPITE, etc., etc. But PAIR seemed the only word close to a fit, and a groaner at that. Also, I had to overcome my initial impression that the first word, SILOP, was an ancient Greek City-State, POLIS!

Took me until today to figure this one out. I was going for so many words that had an H in them…Sharp, Shape…hair related things. A bit ago TREES hit me! OMG, PAIR TREES….bbwwwaaaaa!!! I am so, so glad I did not throw in the towel.

Excellent, though strange, guyz! Now onward!

Never Unc, never! Too much to keep up with right now,and I’ve been gone some. My husb had saved me several papers and I’m slowly working through the puzzlers. I’m caught up to this past Sunday’s. Can’t wait to see what the guyz have come up with.

And that’s one of the reasons I admire you so much…I know you have lots going on, and yet, here you are, faithfully, daily, sharing your wit and wisdom. I do miss it when I can’t check in and see what’s going on. But I do enjoy the guyz’ Just Jumble app and Just 2 Words app that I’ve downloaded to my phone to use when I don’t have a paper around or a computer connection to log into the Seattle paper. Plus those apps are great for travel when riding and the husb is driving. They totally divert my attention from helping him drive 🙂
