“It’s nice to think that one could, even here and now, be whisked away just by hitchhiking.” — Douglas Adams

(I used to hitchhike, as a teen. I don’t think I’d recommend it for teens these days. Too many wackos out there nowadays. Fortunately, I didn’t have to rely on showing my legs. I still pick up the occasional hitchhiker though. Much more control of the situation when you’re the decider. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

Doug was such an inspired writer, with a keen eye for the mundane and a great sense of humor. Probably the only trilogy of four books in the record. His voluntary demise was a great loss, but I’m glad that year after year, people still observe Towel Day. It’s not unlike other whacky dates I like to remember (but usually miss), like Dead Duck Day, and Wear No Pants Day. Thanks for this, uncle.
My pleasure, Wes. — YUR
