Visual Description: Early 20th Century Fordroom meeting.

Clue/Question: When Henry ford’s business expanded, it created the – – –
“AUTO–MAN“ EMPIRE
(Fantastic stinky pun! It might have even stumped some of you. There were no new clue words today, but all of the jumbles came up as new, for me. I struggled some on “untold” and “assure”. The answer letter layout was great. You just knew that the word “auto” had to come into play, but the entire answer wasn’t really a given. The quotation marks and hyphen were the biggest clues. Great cartoon. Old Henry looks kinda like a cross between Pat Sajak and Rand Paul. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

the timing for this pun could not have been worse. april 12 2015 is the 100th anniversary of the armenian genocide.
Yep Unc, got me until today. Again, so close to throwing in the towel!! Grand puzzler….LL
And I’ve learned something new, having never heard of the Armenian Massacres by the Ottoman government. I don’t believe I would have put the two together at all. 😦 LL
I don’t think this was intentional, Bernie. I don’t think Jeff Knurek or David Hoyt would want – or have any reason – to insult such a group of people. I didn’t pick up on it, in the context of the Jumble. But, I did see that Pope Francis did specifically use the word “genocide” during his remembrance on Sunday. It ruffled some feathers, but I appreciate it someone has the guts to call a spade a spade. One of my childhood sweethearts was of Armenian descent. A beautiful Armenian-Swiss girl. Oh so many moons ago.

That is very bad timing indeed. I had no clue about that. Had I known, no way would I have timed the puzzle for that day. That was just bad luck.
The timing of that would not have been on our radar. I have very good childhood friend who is Armenian and this is a very solemn date and anniversary for her and all who lost family during that time. I’ve learned a lot from know her about the Armenian’s plight. We would never have timed something like that. Very unfortunate.
that was quite a coincidence. i was going to say all is forgiven but then i saw today’s pun. it’s a real groaner.
there is quite a bit of activity on the review section of the shockwave online jumble. you (editors) should participate.
No offense, Bernie. But, you’re barking up the wrong tree. This is an independent blog, that just happens to be friendly with the Jumble creators. They do check in, occasionally to frequently, but if you want to get a message to them your best bet is the direct approach.

This is the first Jumble that I couldn’t complete. I was cycling back to “auto” repeatedly and still nothing. I’m pretty sure I even scrapped “auto-man” as a possibility a couple times. It’s been on my mind so much I searched for help. Thanks for the help! “Wealth” & “assure” gave me issues too, for a bit; this was a tough one, and if one caught it on a bad brain day as I may have, it was a true stumper.
Clever.
